We are into November now and the rifle season has started. Although you have to wear hunters orange now, it is still very good deer hunting for both muleys and whitetails. Both species are starting to rut pretty good now and alot of bowhunters are still out there trying. There is really no secret to hunting the bucks now you just locate the does and where they are bedding and feeding and setup for an ambush in between. Countless articles have been written on hunting the rut for whitetails and muleys so you have probably already got the tactics dialed in.
Anyone who has all their tags filled and are up to a huge challenge can try calling in coyotes. Putting an arrow in a coyote that has come to the call is not an easy task by any means. Try to setup with a close shot approaching the downwind side of your setup as the coyotes will almost always try to circle before coming in. A decoy that keeps the coyotes attention and draws him to the spot you want him will be a big help and should keep him occupied while you get the bow drawn. It's a good idea to have your ranges all dialed in before he gets there because you usually will not get away with any movement once they get close. They should have a pretty good pelt on them by now and they make a nice mount or rug if you so desire. Once you give this a try, you will see that a called in coyote with a bow is every bit as cool a trophy as a big buck or bull. Good luck!!
